A note on confidentiality

This project was completed under a non-disclosure agreement, so the dashboard screens and client-specific details can’t be published here. What follows is the problem, my role, and the outcome at a level the agreement allows.

Happy to talk through the work in more depth on request.

Overview

Role
UX Designer (capstone project)
Timeline
Jan 2024 to Apr 2024
Team
Five UX designers, with a product manager, developer, and stakeholders
Tools
Figma, FigJam

A dense operational dashboard where the data existed but was hard to reach. The redesign reorganised navigation and information architecture so common tasks stopped requiring institutional knowledge.

03

Problem

Users had to know where information lived before they could look for it. Navigation grouped features by system structure rather than by task, so retrieving a single figure meant crossing several unrelated screens.

04

Key contributions

  • Conducted user research and a heuristic evaluation to locate where the existing dashboard broke down
  • Restructured navigation and information architecture around user tasks rather than system modules
  • Designed high-fidelity prototypes and reusable components contributing to a shared design system

05

Outcome / learning

Working in a team of five made the design system the real deliverable: agreeing on components and naming early removed most downstream inconsistency.

  • Data retrieval speed improved by 30%
