Overview

Role
UI/UX Volunteer Designer
Timeline
Aug 2024 to Dec 2024
Tools
Figma, FigJam
Focus
Discoverability, application flow, design system

JobScout’s search made jobs available but not findable, and the application journey lost people between interest and submission. The work covered research through developer handoff.

03

Key contributions

  • Ran user research and usability testing, plus A/B testing on discoverability changes to the search and job-card experience
  • Designed user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity interfaces, and interactive prototypes for the search and application journey
  • Built the design system in Figma using Auto Layout, component properties, and variables, and prepared developer handoff

04

Outcome / learning

The strongest lever was not adding features but making each result self-explanatory: when a card answered fit, location, and stage up front, fewer people dropped out of the application journey.

  • User drop-off reduced by 25%
  • Completed job applications increased by 35%
